The move confirms Ghosh’s interim role permanently as Barclays continues building out its Indian private banking presence with over 30 senior hires in recent months
Barclays has appointed Adrish Ghosh as Head of Private Bank for India, formalising a role he has held on an interim basis since August last year. He previously served as Head of Distribution for Private Bank India, where he focused on client engagement and business growth.
Ghosh joined Barclays in 2008 and brings over 25 years of financial services experience, including time at IL&FS Group across private equity, fiduciary services and business development. He will continue reporting to Annabelle Bryde, Head of Barclays Private Bank International, with a mandate focused on tailored solutions for clients seeking access to international wealth corridors alongside domestic Indian services.
Following the appointment, Pranav Khanna takes on an expanded role as Head of Distribution for Private Bank India. Khanna joined Barclays in September 2025, bringing over 25 years of experience across wealth management and fiduciary advisory in India and international markets.
“Adrish has played a pivotal role in strengthening our client engagement and driving growth in India, a strategically important market for Barclays Private Bank,” said Bryde.
The appointments follow a broader expansion push in India, including a new Gurugram office opened in February 2026 and a capital injection of over INR 2,300 crore (£210 million) in March 2025. Barclays said growing demand from ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices for international wealth access has driven more than 30 senior banker and product specialist hires from leading institutions in recent months.
