Aurionpro Solutions has appointed Krishnaraja Tantri as chief executive of Aurionpro Payments Solutions, the company’s payments business.
Tantri joins after nearly two decades at Global Payments, where he most recently served as senior vice president for South and Southeast Asia. Before that he was regional head for South India at ICICI Bank, running operations across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. He has about 30 years of experience across payments, cards, telecom and financial services.
Group CEO Ashish Rai said Tantri’s experience in the payments ecosystem would bring immediate value to the business. Tantri said he was joining at an exciting time for the payments industry and wants to drive the unit’s next phase of growth.
Aurionpro launched its payments platform, AuroPay, in 2021. The unit later won in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as a payment aggregator and went live as an online payment aggregator in 2024. The wider group works across banking, fintech, payments, smart mobility and data centre services.

Aurionpro is better known as a technology vendor to banks than as a payments brand. That makes this hire a statement. India’s payment aggregator market is crowded, and winning there takes merchant relationships and regulatory stamina more than software. Tantri’s years building regional businesses at Global Payments bring exactly that, so his first year will show whether AuroPay can scale.
