Great Eastern Financial Advisers, a wholly owned subsidiary of Great Eastern Holdings, has obtained approval to advise on securities and structured products for accredited investors.
Leveraging Bank of Singapore’s platform for financial intermediaries, the firm’s in-house advisory team may now advise on securities and structured products, strengthening its integrated wealth planning and investment offerings. The development marks another step in the collaboration between Great Eastern and Bank of Singapore to grow services for high-net-worth clients.
Accredited investors gain access to a tailored wealth planning journey across insurance, investment, and bespoke wealth solutions, removing the friction of traditional referral models.
“Great Eastern Financial Advisers is Singapore’s largest financial advisory firm. The expansion marks a milestone in the advancement of our capabilities to provide end-to-end, best-of-breed Whole of Wealth solutions and experience,” said Greg Hingston, Group Chief Executive Officer of Great Eastern and Chairman of Great Eastern Financial Advisers. “Great Eastern Financial Advisers have built 15 years of trust with their customers, and we remain committed to raising advisory standards.”
Jesslyn Tan, Chief Executive Officer of Great Eastern Financial Advisers, said: “We continue to strengthen the capabilities of our advisory force. This expanded licensing signals to customers that our advisers are equipped with broader financial competencies that complement their strong insurance foundations.”
The approval follows the launch of Great Eastern Private in March, serving HNW individuals and their families. Clients can access bespoke wealth planning at the Hewton Fair Suite within the Great Eastern Centre, which features an on-site medical suite where bilingual doctors provide same-day health assessments, alongside Healthy Longevity and Medi-wellness services.
Founded in 1908, Great Eastern holds over S$122 billion in assets and more than 16 million policyholders, including 11.7 million from government schemes, with operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. Great Eastern Life Assurance and Great Eastern General Insurance are rated “AA” by Fitch Ratings and “AA-” by S&P Global Ratings. Great Eastern is a subsidiary of OCBC, the second largest financial services group in Southeast Asia by assets.
