InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy are merging, the two companies announced Tuesday, in a deal that creates India’s largest insurance distribution platform by point-of-sales-person (PoSP) premium generated in 2025-26.
Together, they carry a premium book worth more than ₹6,600 crore, reach 98.57% of India’s pin codes, and work with over 600,000 digital partners. Since launch, the pair has helped issue more than 2 crore insurance policies.
The merged company will run under the InsuranceDekho brand, with Ankit Agrawal as CEO. Founders from both sides are staying on to lead strategy and execution.
Geographically, the deal fills in the map: InsuranceDekho’s strength in the north and west pairs with RenewBuy’s base in the south, giving the combined business a genuinely pan-India footprint. On the technology side, InsuranceDekho’s plan-recommendation tools will merge with RenewBuy’s stack to automate partner onboarding, digital policy issuance, and advisory support for agents.
The platform will offer more than 750 products from 52 insurers spanning motor, health, life, travel, and commercial lines, functioning as an open marketplace rather than a single-insurer channel. The goal, the companies say, is to put the same digital tools in the hands of agents in small towns and villages that their counterparts in metro cities already have.
Ankit Agrawal, founder and CEO of InsuranceDekho, said: “The coming together is a strategic step towards taking insurance to the last mile. Our model has always been powered by our partners, and by backing them with a range of product choice, stronger tools and the support to grow their business, we deepen insurance access in towns and villages of Bharat that need it most. This combination brings together complementary strengths in technology, on-ground distribution and insurer partnerships. Our immediate focus is disciplined execution and seamless integration.”
Balachander Sekhar, CEO of RenewBuy, added: “The union of these two organisations brings together a combination of digital, technology and distribution enablement. By pairing technology depth with skilled on-ground partner network capabilities, we can equip insurance partners with smarter tools and seamless digital experiences. And, through them, aim to bring insurance within the reach of every Indian. Together, we believe we are building the infrastructure to strengthen last-mile access.”
The combined company plans to work with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) on financial inclusion, and eventually wants to push its technology and distribution network into broader financial and enterprise services beyond insurance.
HeraldViewThe merger signals consolidation in India’s crowded insurtech distribution space, betting scale beats fragmentation. Pan-India reach plus a 52-insurer marketplace pressures smaller PoSP aggregators to follow suit or partner up. Expect IRDAI to watch closely as last-mile insurance access becomes a scale game.
