SNB Group has partnered with Mastercard to launch the “SNB World Legend Mastercard,” the first card of its kind offered to private banking clients anywhere in the Middle East and North Africa.
Private banking clients get an integrated set of benefits across travel, dining, entertainment, investment, and luxury lifestyle. That includes Mastercard Collection’s premium global perks plus 24/7 concierge service, personalized travel planning, meet-and-greet arrangements, airport transfers worldwide, lounge access for the cardholder and two guests, fast-track service at major airports, and access to leading economic forums through a Bloomberg partnership.
Saud Bajabir, Head of Retail Banking at SNB Group, said the launch reinforces the group’s position as a leading financial institution in the Kingdom and the region, pairing innovation with value beyond standard banking services.
Adam Jones, Regional President for Western Arabia at Mastercard, said the card draws on extensive global research into customer needs and reflects Mastercard’s focus on turning payments into meaningful experiences.
SNB Group tied the launch to its broader strategy of expanding innovative products, supporting Saudi Vision 2030, and strengthening its regional standing in financial innovation.
The Herald View
A “first in the region” claim on a card product is a positioning move as much as a product launch. The benefit stack here, concierge, lounge access, travel perks, is standard premium-tier territory globally; what’s new is the geography, not the concept. Framing it against Vision 2030 signals SNB wants this read as national strategy alignment, not just a private banking upsell. The real test is adoption among the ultra-high-net-worth segment the card targets, not the announcement itself. Watch whether SNB discloses cardholder uptake numbers within two quarters.
