Devexperts has appointed Rainer Fuchsluger as Global Group CEO, effective immediately, as the privately held financial technology company approaches its 25th anniversary in 2027. Devexperts provides trading platforms, market data, exchange connectivity, and market infrastructure used by more than 20 million traders worldwide, with over 800 employees across 10 offices globally.

Fuchsluger’s mandate is to extend the company’s value chain across the full investment and trade lifecycle, deliver greater value to clients through cloud computing and AI, and accelerate its international growth strategy. The appointment follows the departure of Ben Hurley, who spent more than four years at Devexperts, including the past two as CEO.
Fuchsluger brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience spanning financial software, market data, exchange technology, and critical market infrastructure, along with deep expertise in AI. His career includes senior roles at LSEG, Wolters Kluwer, SS&C, and Thomson Reuters, and he has lived and worked in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Switzerland.
“Devexperts has always been built on exceptional engineering, advanced technology and long-standing, trusted client relationships,” said Michael Babushkin, Founder of Devexperts. “I would like to thank Ben for his leadership and commitment over the past four years and welcome Rainer at an important time for the company. His deep knowledge of global financial markets, combined with a proven track record of scaling technology businesses across major financial centres, will help us build on our strengths and realise our ambitions for international growth.”
“Devexperts has built something very special over nearly 25 years, combining deep capital markets expertise, advanced technology and exceptional people with strong client relationships, including banks, brokerages, exchanges and wealth managers,” said Fuchsluger. “I’m grateful to Michael and the Board for their confidence in me and excited to build on the company’s achievements.”
With AI already embedded in more than half of its software development pipeline, Devexperts plans to build on that foundation under Fuchsluger’s leadership. “Capital markets are evolving rapidly, driven by demand for trusted data and analytics, resilient market infrastructure and the accelerating adoption of cloud computing and AI,” Fuchsluger added. “My priority is to stay close to our clients, understand their evolving needs and bring our capabilities closer together across the investment and trade lifecycle.”
Next year, Devexperts will mark its 25th anniversary with a global programme led by Fuchsluger.
Herald View: Hiring a 25 year data and infrastructure veteran, rather than a trading platform specialist, signals where Devexperts thinks its next phase of growth sits: not in flashier trading tools, but in stitching together data, analytics, and AI across the full trade lifecycle. That’s a bet on becoming infrastructure clients can’t easily replace, not just a platform they use.
