DBS and Samsung Securities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a strategic wealth management partnership, pairing Samsung Securities’ strength in Korea’s capital markets with DBS’s global wealth platform to widen the choices available to clients of both institutions.
The tie-up brings together two complementary franchises — Samsung Securities, a leader in Korea’s capital markets and wealth management, and DBS, one of Asia’s foremost wealth managers — allowing their clients to diversify across markets. The MOU paves the way for a strategic partnership agreement.
The two institutions will explore four areas of collaboration, with detailed terms to follow:
Korean market access for DBS clients: DBS clients can invest in solutions offered by Samsung Securities.
Global solutions for Samsung Securities’ clients: Samsung Securities clients gain access to DBS’ multi-asset global wealth solutions.
Client connectivity: Advisory services to serve clients’ global wealth management needs.
Knowledge and capability sharing: Joint learning and innovation in areas such as AI and thought leadership in wealth management.
The partnership comes as Asia strengthens its position as a global wealth hub, with clients increasingly seeking professional advice to grow their wealth and businesses.
Park Jong-moon, President and CEO of Samsung Securities, said: “This partnership marks an important milestone in connecting Korean investors to global markets and bringing global opportunities to our clients. By pairing Samsung Securities’ strength in Korea’s capital markets with DBS’ regional and global wealth platform, we can offer clients a more connected and differentiated wealth experience — and reinforce Korea’s place at the heart of Asia’s wealth ecosystem.”
DBS CEO Tan Su Shan said: “Asia is fast becoming the world’s wealth engine, and clients increasingly want to manage their wealth seamlessly across markets. We are delighted to partner Samsung Securities, a like-minded leader that shares our belief in putting clients first and in connected markets. By bringing together Samsung Securities’ leadership in Korea’s capital markets and DBS’ global platform, we can offer clients in both markets investment opportunities of a calibre few can match across Asia and beyond. We see wealth management as just the start. Over time, we hope to bring the full strength of DBS as One Bank to serve clients across their wealth and business alike.”
